On Thursday, February 11, Michael Stars teamed up with The Buzz Girls, a network of stylish, professional women in entertainment and lifestyle industries to host the launch event for the limited-edition Joyful Heart tee benefiting Mariska Hargitay's Joyful Heart Foundation at Michael Stars on Montana Avenue in Santa Monica. During the three hour event, more than 60 women gathered to support Mariska's efforts in providing healing to survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse, and to shed light into the darkness that surrounds these issues.
True Blood star Ashley Jones was spotted writing letters of encouragement to surviving victims at the "Joyful Hope" station while Michael Stars' founder Michael Cohen was overheard sharing his support for Mariska and her work with Joyful Heart to a group of guests. The event concluded with New York Times best selling author Andrea Buchanan, speaking to the crowd about her experience serving on the Joyful Heart board as well as the foundation's inception, message and goals to help women on their road to recovery.
For every guest, in attendance Michael Stars donated a tee to be given to woman in one of Joyful Heart programs and for every Joyful Heart tee purchased, Michael Stars donated an additional $5 to the Joyful Heart Foundation.
