Reunion Issue No. 4
Welcome to Reunion Issue No. 4. In this issue, we turn our attention to the issue of child abuse and neglect and the incredible work being done to safeguard future generations. We share powerful stories of hope and healing from three adult survivors of childhood abuse. We highlight the strengths-based One Strong ‘Ohana child abuse and neglect prevention public awareness campaign that launched this year in Hawai‘i. We venture into play therapy to explore how this unique practice can help both adults and children heal from trauma. And we feature the work of child advocacy centers with a piece by Linda Fairstein, best-selling author and Joyful Heart board member, who contributed a piece highlighting Safe Horizon’s Manhattan CAC here in New York City.
We call it a magazine, but Reunion is intended to be so much more: a tool, a way to connect our community and a resource for anyone looking for information or inspiration. With this as its purpose, we have a vision of this magazine sitting in every waiting room in every child advocacy center across the country for all who walk in your welcoming doors. We sincerely hope you, your colleagues and community will benefit from it. We invite you to explore our latest edition of Reunion online.
