Self Care Tips

  • Start your day with breakfast.
  • Wear comfortable clothing.
  • Reduce the noise level in your environment if possible.
  • Take a walk in a park.
  • Read a book because you want to.
  • Call a friend or relative you haven't spoken with.
  • Eat healthy (avoid drinking soda all day) and get plenty of rest and relaxation (take a nap).
  • Laugh out loud!
  • Take a day off from watching TV and do something active.
  • Take a warm and relaxing bath.
  • Avoid negative people and surround yourself with positive people.
  • Be assertive. Learn to express your needs and differences, to make requests, and to say "no" constructively.
  • Go shopping with friends or family.
  • Check your breathing throughout the day. If you are feeling stressed, take deep, slow breaths until you are calm
  • Don't be afraid to ask questions or for assistance.
  • Practice being patient.
  • Resist the urge to judge or criticize. Reflect on why you would.
  • Be flexible with change. It can be scary yet exciting and rewarding.
  • Learn to listen to others, not just hear them.
  • Spend time with your pet or someone else's pet.
  • Listen to music and sing along as loud as you want to (who cares what you sound like, everyone's a rockstar)
