Brooklyn, New York

Hundreds of people attended a daylong screening of the hit television show Younger on Saturday, June 24, to benefit Joyful Heart.

TV Land, Viacom, and Refinery29 hosted Binge-Watch for a Cause where visitors watched the show’s third season and the season 4 premiere, ahead of its national release on June 28, at North Brooklyn Farms overlooking the New York City skyline. Peter Hermann, one of stars of Younger and a Joyful Heart board member, spoke to the audience about Joyful Heart’s work to end sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse. Nico Tortorella, who plays the character Josh, also made an appearance.

TV Land donated $10 to Joyful Heart for every person who RSVPed to the event or posted on social media using the hashtag #BingeYounger. They encouraged viewers who could not make it in person to watch at home and also use the hashtag on social media.

Would you consider joining TV Land and Viacom in supporting our transformative work by making a gift today?

Guests enjoyed several activities at the event. They watched Younger from a large screen while sprawled out on lawn blankets on a grassy section of the farm; got their hair braided and nails painted by professional stylists; played lawn games, including cornhole and Jenga with life-size blocks; and got pictures taken with their friends at the event’s photo booth. Tasty treats were a big hit, including ice cream, pretzels, cookies, and fruit and vegetable smoothies. Visitors also received information about Joyful Heart, including our “Six Steps for Supporting a Survivor” toolkit.

We are grateful to TV Land, Viacom, and Refinery29 for generously supporting our mission to transform society’s response to sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse, support survivors’ healing, and end this violence forever.
