Meet the Attorneys Using Product Liability Theory to Fight Big Tech

Carrie Goldberg is the founder of Victims’ Rights law firm C. A. Goldberg, PLLC, which does groundbreaking work nationally fighting for survivors of sexual violence and representing victims of catastrophic injuries caused by tech giants. The firm leads the nation in landmark cases challenging Section 230 immunity against big tech. As lead counsel in Herrick v. Grindr, Carrie introduced the novel legal approach of applying product liability law to dangerous tech products. The firm presently represents 30 families suing Amazon for selling a suicide poison to their children. In early 2026, the Firm won appeals in the Washington Supreme Court (9-0) and the Ninth (3-0) against Amazon establishing that online retailers have a duty to not sell products used for self-harm.

In November 2023 the firm’s monumental settlement in A.M. v. Omegle resulted in the platform shuttering forever. The case created new precedent in the realm of product liability and sex trafficking, the first case to overcome Section 230 where the plaintiff sued a platform for injuries caused by a malicious user. The firm overcame 230 immunity in January 2024 against Snap for its role in fentanyl deaths in Neville, et al. v Snap and represented the plaintiff in Doe v Grindr relating to the foreseeable child rapes caused from the app marketing to children. Carrie proudly served on the plaintiff steering committee in the multi-district litigation against Snap, Google, TikTok, and Meta regarding platforms products intended to addict children. The firm is lead counsel in cases against Discord relating to its cultivation of the 764 child abuse cult, Match Group for recommending a serial rapist to nine women on Hinge and Tinder who were drugged and raped, and xAI for unleashing Grok’s nudification AI on the general public including its client Ashley St. Clair.

Naomi Leeds is a Partner at C.A. Goldberg, PLLC. She and Carrie Goldberg lead the firm’s national practice against Big Tech. Naomi is a leading expert on Section 230 and product liability against tech companies, frequently appearing in national news media, universities, and global institutions to comment about the firm’s cases and breaking legal news about tech liability.

When Naomi joined C.A. Goldberg, PLLC as a law graduate in 2021, the firm had just signed on its first client who had lost her son to suicide by a high-purity chemical, sodium nitrite (SN), purchased on Amazon. Naomi’s investigative work was instrumental for the firm’s filing of Scott v. Amazon, Inc. in 2022, the first lawsuit they’d file against Amazon for wrongful death by SN. Today, the firm represents 29 families against Amazon and has made case law on corporations’ liability for suicide.

Naomi represents multiple families against Snap for facilitating the sales of fentanyl-laced pills, and she was instrumental in shuttering the child exploitation platform, Omegle, in the firm’s case A.M. v. Omegle, which resulted in groundbreaking case law regarding the liability of online platforms. She co-authored the Petitioner’s Reply in the 2025 Supreme Court matter, Doe v. Grindr, a landmark case determining the scope of platform liability and online trafficking. With Carrie, Naomi is a lead attorney in product liability cases the firm has filed against various platforms including Match Group, Discord, and xAI.

Naomi got her bachelor’s from Johns Hopkins and law degree from Fordham Law School. She is admitted to practice law in NY, CT, and the Ninth Circuit.

As Chief of Staff at C.A. Goldberg, PLLC, Norma oversees the firm’s operations, intake, and marketing. She started as a client of the firm experiencing stalking and image-based sexual abuse before joining the team as Client Relations Coordinator in 2018. Today, she continues to meet with potential clients, guiding survivors through the first steps of the legal process, while supervising day-to-day operations and strategizing for the firm’s growth.

Norma’s commitment to empowering others to demand justice extends beyond her work at the firm. Norma has attended events at the White House, championed major legislation, and shared her own lived experience and professional expertise to push for policy reform. Her writing has been published in Elle, Refinery29, The Hill, and more.

Norma is also a member of the inaugural Board of Directors of MyOwn Image, a nonprofit dedicated to combating image-based sexual abuse and other forms of technology-facilitated gendered violence. As a sex-positive victims’ rights advocate and adult content creator, Norma has served on several panels and shared her personal journey from trauma to healing with various media platforms. She is also the host of the podcast Oral Arguments, where she has candid conversations with others doing significant work at the intersection of sex, tech and victims’ rights.
